Marist Asia Foundation works with 3 of the 7 goals of Laudato Si, in response to: Cry of the Poor; Community Engagement and Participation; and Ecological Education.

Cry of the Poor: Education of Migrant Children

The Marist Asia Foundation's migrant community education center happily welcomed two hundred eighty-five students to another exciting year of learning, on May 19. The Parents' support is very much appreciated as they accompany their children for registration. The first three days of school are set specifically to orient the students to MAF child protection policy, transportation safety, anti-bullying, and other safety measures. We hope and pray that Covid will eventually be gone, and no more pandemic would affect the education, especially of the migrant youth and children.

They also celebrated the graduation of twenty-five (25) Year 5 students, on April 27th, despite the Covid situation. These students have been studying with MAF for 5 years. They are also studying under Thailand Non-Formal Education Program, and in few months' time they will finish their lower secondary education. They will then receive a certificate of completion which enables them to proceed to another two-year secondary education program to complete a non-formal high school certificate. These students can also continue to study with MAF's Intermediate English and Intensive English Program. This is so helpful should they aim to proceed to an online higher education program.

Ecological Education:

Text from Staff member: Jed Medel Laurito Fht

Planting mangroves has been proven to help with environmental issues and is perhaps something more of us should get on board with. A greener planet is a better planet. Let's do it together, plant a tree now. The Marist Asia Foundation (MAF) joined the Mangrove tree planting activity organized by the Ministry of Labor Ranong in collaboration with other government agencies. private institutions and organizations on May 7, 2022 near Tesco Lotus, Muang Ranong.

-Community Based HIV AIDS Patient Health Program

-Translation and access to hospital services

-Emotional and spiritual support

-Community Based Social and Health Education work with families and the Burmese community

Fondation Mariste-Asie (FMA). Semaine Laudato Si
