Nativity - Nativité

A group of 5th graders were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Niagra Falls
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So, she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many."
The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love."

The Incarnation means that the everyday things we often experience as simple and ordinary are actually sacramental - truly Wonder-full!

On a demandé à un groupe d'élèves de 5e année d'énumérer ce qu'ils pensaient être les « sept merveilles du monde » actuelles. Bien qu'il y ait eu quelques désaccords, les suivants ont reçu le plus de votes :

1. Les grandes pyramides d'Égypte

2. Chutes du Niagra

3. Le Grand Canyon

4. Canal de Panama

5. Empire State Building

6. Basilique Saint-Pierre

7. La Grande Muraille de Chine

En recueillant les votes, l'enseignante a remarqué qu'une élève n'avait pas encore terminé son travail. Alors, elle a demandé à la fille si elle avait des problèmes avec sa liste. La jeune fille répondit : « Oui, un peu. Je n'arrivais pas à me décider parce qu'il y en avait tellement. L'enseignant a dit : « Eh bien, dites-nous ce que vous avez, et peut-être que nous pourrons vous aider. » La jeune fille hésita, puis lut : « Je pense que les « sept merveilles du monde » sont :

1. Voir

2. Entendre

3. Toucher

4. Goûter

5. Ressentir

6. Rire

7. et Aimer.

L'incarnation signifie que les choses quotidiennes que nous considérons souvent comme simples et ordinaires sont en fait sacramentelles - vraiment merveilleuses !
